    Welcome to Our Home!

    Fully-Fenced Backyard

    Cozy and quiet.

    Room to Roam!

We absolutely adore our backyard! The natural vine-wall, the butterflies that float through, the bees that buzz by, the hummingbirds that hum overhead, and the mockingbirds and other native avian residents that tweet their sweet tunes... they all add to the space in a soft, yet beautiful way. While our mornings can be quite busy with all sorts of preschool learning and sensory activities, we also take moments to intentionally appreciate the natural beauty around us.

Let your child explore the beauty of nature in our inviting yard!

    Clean, Clutter-Free Home

One of the best ways that we can help your child thrive is to keep our home clean and clutter-free! Everything has a place. We feel that having too many *things* in sight can cause mental exhaustion and can overwhelm one with the choices on what to play with. Toys are tucked neatly away in cubbies and taken out when used. We are not minimalists. Your child will have an abundance of playthings here! But we like to keep our space tidy during the in-betweens of play, and have it ready for the next activity.

Children will learn the imperative life skill of cleaning up after onself, which fosters responsibility, independance, respect for shared spaces, and makes for a better mental well-being!

    Front Garden

Being in a subtropical garden zone in San Diego County in beautiful Southern California,we can garden nearly year round!

Your child will prep soil, start seeds, water seedlings and watch as they turn into plantlets, and transplant baby plants into our garden beds.

    Pollinator Habitat

Little Way is officially recognized as a Pollinator Habitat with the Xerces Society.

We are committed to helping pollinators and other local native wildlife by providing native plants that are pesticide free. We have planted dozens of plants native to our region, and will continue to add more natives as the years go on.

Your child will learn the importance of native fauna, and will see for themselves the benefit it provides, as we will watch for the bugs, lizards, and birds that profit from our garden space every day!

Support for this project is provided by the California Wildlife Conservation Board.

    Pet Interaction

We are a pet-friendly home. Here your children will learn to safely handle and care for animals, including a boxer dog, cockatiel bird, chickens, and a large aquarium filled with fresh-water fish. While pets will remain separated from children a majority of the time, they will have occasional contact under closely guided supervision. We prioritize safety with teaching safe-handling skills, and promote responsibility by allowing the children to assist in simple daily tasks (feeding fish, collecting fresh eggs, etc).

Our Mission

is to Inspire children to love learning and appreciate the little things in life
